“Good Education requires good Teachers” It is very essential that the most capable and appropriate people to be recruited into the teaching profession, thus BITE provides a high quality pre-service programme of teacher education and offers opportunities to upgrade their knowledge and skills over the full length of their professional career.
The SCERT enriches all the teacher training institutes (DIET, BITE) including government aided institutions under its control and provide all the in-service and pre-service programme throughout the state.
DIET :
DIETs are the district level educational institutes which have been established in each district of India by the Indian government. They help in co -ordinating and implementing government polices at district level. In the district primary, Secondary and Higher Secondary school teachers need orientation on innovations in teaching and learning at all levels in various contexts. Hence DIET place vital role in strengthening the quality of Education as on academic authority under the guidance of SCERT.
Functions of BITE :
- BITE were strengthened to play a major role in improving Pre-serivce Training.
- Institutes are opened for SC/ST/Minority concentrated districts.
- To strengthen teacher education capacity.
Role of BITE :
- “ A Good teacher is like a candle, it consumes itself to light the way for others”. Urgent need to set up elementary Pre-service training institutions to prepare elementary school teachers for empowering The Teacher training SC/ST minorities institute provides good quality teacher education facilities in enhancing the trainees to be the best for the society.
- It is basically a Pre-service elementary teacher education institution.
Rules and code of Behaviour :
Each trainee is looked upon as an individual endowed with certain talents, with their own character and personality which must be developed and perfected. The rules and code of behavior helps to strengthen the teacher trainee’s determination for growth in self direction. Trainees who co-operate with the ideals of the institution will find themselves at the end of their career, truly trained in their heart and mind.
Dress :
Staff and Teacher-trainees are expected to be neatly dressed in accordance with the rules of approved etiquette decency and modesty. Uniform is strictly followed for Teacher-trainees.
Attendance :
The SCERT has prescribed the following regulations with regard to the number of working days and attendance.
- Each students should have 85% of attendance during an academic year.
- It includes the observation period of 10 days.
- Teaching practice for 30 days in two spells of 15 days each and project work for 8 days.
- The working hours for institution is from 10.00 am to 05.00 pm with a break of 15 minutes after the second period. Lunch break of 30 minutes from 01.10 pm to 01.40 pm.
- All Teacher-trainees should present for morning assembly.
- Attendance shall be taken at the beginning of each session.
- A Teacher-trainee require or taken a leave should give a leave letter prior or the very next day of the absence.
- No leave should be granted during test or examinations days
